BIG WINES, Ukrainian wine and Decanter

The BIG WINES company was founded in 2019 as a "wine" project. However, we became a "winemaking" project precisely during a full-scale war. Our first wine Big Wines Big Art Odesa Black Ivan Marchuk limited edition 2020 saw the light of day in February 2023, and already in a year in 2024 we have our own wines from Odesa Black, Telti-Kuruk, Pinot Noir Rosé of the 2023 vintage.

During this short period, we managed to:
● make wine with oenologist Artem Taran
● enlist the support and cooperation of Maestro Ivan Stepanovych Marchuk
● purchase own vineyards, plots for vineyards and a winery in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions
● fall in love with Ukrainian Bessarabia, the endless steppe and amazing dawns

And there were many "firsts":
● they made Ukrainian wine for the first time
● received a license for the first time
● took part in international exhibitions for the first time at the joint Wines of Ukraine stand
● first released "young" Odesa Black 2023 vintage, despite criticism
● applied for the Decanter Awards 2024 competition for the first time and received medals.

We consider it necessary to take part in international and local tasting competitions. After all, independent competitions are an objective assessment of the work of the entire team and the oenologist, first of all. Therefore, we always look forward to the results in order to become a better version of ourselves every time.

Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) is one of the most prestigious and influential wine competitions in the world. Decanter World Wine Award tastings are conducted blindly by the world's most respected experts, Masters of Wine and world critics.
