Ivan Marchuk’s "Awakening" Comes to Ukraine for the First Time

Ahead of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, one of Ivan Marchuk’s most renowned paintings, "Awakening" (1993), has arrived in Kyiv.

This is more than just the return of a painting. For the first time, the original has been seen in Ukraine - the land that inspired its creator.

For BIG WINES, this moment is especially meaningful. It was with “Awakening” that our story with Ivan Marchuk began. The painting later became the inspiration for our unique wine triptych, created from the Ukrainian grape variety Odesa Black.

We are truly happy to see the original "Awakening" in Ukraine and proud to be part of this special story.

Today, Marchuk’s works can be seen at two exhibitions in Kyiv - at the Museum of the History of Kyiv and the “Chocolate House.”

Happy Ukrainian Flag Day and Happy 35th Independence Day! 🇺🇦
